The How.
This lesson breaks down the basic steps involved in testing with an agency, from start to finish. Below you'll find samples of e-mails I've sent that have resulted in a yes from the agency and a successful test shoot!
This was one of the first e-mails I sent! As you can see, I didn't even include a moodboard. I wouldn't suggest leaving it out, but it did work out for me in the past. All I included was a few sample photos of my work, which isn't something I do now either. A link to your website and Instagram is totally sufficient.
In this e-mail, I included three different moodboards. I don't do this anymore, just one strong moodboard is all you need! It also helps streamline and make it clear what they can expect from the first shoot with you.
This is an example of an e-mail sent to a general address. I was basically just asking for the right contact before I sent over my moodboard. I still send e-mails like this if all I have is a general info e-mail.
This is one of the most recent e-mail exchanges I've had! Now that I have a lot of professional models in my book, I can be a bit more specific with what I am looking for. You will notice I also received the contact from a friend, something you can look into if you know other photographers who have tested with an agency!
